W. Jean Sigler Makowski, 81, of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the nursing home where she had been a resident since 2009.  Born on April 20, 1931 in Midland she was the daughter of the late Eva Mae (Sigler) Lease.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Richard Boyd in 1968 and Robert L. Makowski in 1975.

She is survived by her sister Henrietta Lease of Swanton, her close friend Mary McKenzie and numerous cousins.

She was member of the Midland Grace United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of Mary Jane Holmes Chapter #440 OES of Rochester, NY and the AARP. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of  Wednesday Afternoon Senior Bowling League and the Thursday Afternoon St. Ambrose Bowling League. She was a 1949 graduate of Beall High School, Frostburg and a former employee of Eastman Kodak of Rochester, NY.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Midland with Pastor Rebecca Vardiman officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

At the request of Jean memorial contributions may be made in the form of donations to Midland Grace United Methodist Church at 19915 Church Street, Midland, MD 21532. She requested no flowers be sent.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Frostburg Village Nursing Home,  New Horizon Unit and also Dr. Sidhu for the excellent care provided to Jean.

Sorry to hear about Jean. It is times like this when living a long distance from everyone is hard. Wish we could be there, we enjoyed eating lunch and remembering old times several years ago. You are in our prayers.
