Francis de Sales Meyers, 93, formerly of Reisterstown, MD., died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Oak Crest Village retirement center, Baltimore County.  Born on October 7, 1924 in Lonaconing, MD, he was the son of the late George A. Meyers and Catherine (Douglas) Meyers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Stoner) Meyers on February 24, 2015, sisters, Mary E. Meyers and Catherine T. Meyers and brothers, George A. Meyers, John C. Meyers and Joseph Meyers.

He was the father of Katherine L. Brown of Lutherville, MD., and Paul D. Meyers of Westminster, MD. Grandchildren are Collin Meyers, Westminster, MD., and Chris and Stephen Brown of Lutherville, MD and great-grandchildren are Remi and Carter Meyers.  A brother, Michael C. Meyers, resides in Westminster, MD. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

                A veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII, he served aboard the U.S.S. Hammerhead. Formerly a Public Information Office for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Health, Baltimore; he also wrote freelance for national publications with numerous articles in Baltimore Sunpapers. In his later years, as a writer, he wrote and published two books, a collection of short stories and a novel.

                Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, MD on Monday, June 18, 2018 from Noon-2:00 PM.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Avilton, Garrett County.
