Music by The Piano Brothers

Estel Edward Jackson, 88, of Lower George’s Creek Road, Lonaconing died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born on May 18, 1930 he was the son of the late Edward H. Jackson and Mary Elizabeth “Mollie” (Michael) Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Margie (Grove) Jackson on April 14, 2013 and two sisters Averil Martin and Lois Bloom.

Estel was a hard worker; he owned and operated his own carpet business, Jackson Floor Covering for many years. He was truly a perfectionist in his profession. He was also the maintenance manager at Braddock Square before retiring. He found great joy in playing music; going into nursing homes to entertain the residences. Playing cards and pool were favorite pastimes he shared with friends. Most of all Estel had a love for family, especially his grandkids.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing. He was also a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club and the Midland Sportsmans Club.

He is survived by his daughter Margie Beckner and husband Joseph of Lonaconing; two grandchildren Megan Beckner and Aaron Beckner; a great-granddaughter Madison Grace Riggleman; two sisters Eleanor Moore and Phyllis Davis; close friend and companion Mary Brode and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM. Private inurnment will be held at Philos Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the staff and facility of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home for the great care they provided to Estel.
