Jeanie Kay Shockey, 71, of Rockville Street, Lonaconing died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on November 8, 1948 she was the daughter of the late William W. Smith and Flora (Muir) Smith.

She was preceded in death by a sister Billie Jean Laughlin and husband Joe and a daughter-in-law Tammie Shockey.

Jeanie was a 1966 graduate of Valley High School and attended Catherman’s Business School. For 25 years she and her husband owned and operated Marshall’s Confectionery, Lonaconing. More recently she worked as a pharmacy tech for The Medicine Shoppe, Lonaconing. Jeanie enjoyed reading, cooking and baking but most of all she loved her sons and her grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years Tom Shockey; two sons Tommy Shockey and wife Carla and Chris Shockey and wife Stacey; four grandchildren Evan, Haylee, Caden and Cameron; step-granddaughter Codi Sines and husband Josh and their son Easton; two sisters Nellie Woods and husband Tom and Louise Johnson and husband Wayne, mother-in-law Wanda J. Shockey and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 11 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made in memory of Jeanie to the First Presbyterian Church at 1 East Main Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.

My sincere sympathy to Tom, Tommy, Chris and families. Jeanie loved you all so much. She talked about you all every day and was so proud. She spoiled me at work. I’m gonna miss her so much. I loved her. I will never forget her.

Annette and I will cherish our 36 plus years of Jeanie's friendship. We enjoyed the times we spent with Jeanie at church and pharmacy and will forever hold onto those memories.

Tom and Family,
Sorry to hear of Jeanie death, I'm sure she will be missed by all of you. One of the really good people, that always had time to say hi when she saw you. Prayers to everybody that has ever had the privilege of knowing her, she will be missed for sure.
