Jessie Catherine (McGee) Whiteman died, April 2,2020. Born in Lonaconing on August 30, 1919 she was the daughter of the late, Jimmy and Katie (Miller) McGee.  

 

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William E. "Bill" Whiteman on September 4, 2004;  two daughters, Donna Jean (Whiteman) Sexton and husband James and Catherine Ellen (Whiteman) Bray Payne, who was preceded in death by two husbands, William H. Bray and Francis S. Payne ; two brothers, James Edward McGee and Alexander Monroe McGee; four sisters, Elizabeth Isabel "Bess" (McGee) Broadwater and June Althea (McGee) Parrish, Wilma Jean (McGee) Beeman, and Alice Marie (McGee) Edgar. 

 

She is survived by one daughter and three sons, William James Whiteman and wife Judy of National, Phillip Allen Whiteman and wife Doris of Savage River Road, Thelma Louise (Whiteman) Banner Foutz of Cresaptown and Stanley John Whiteman and wife Vicky of Englewood, FL. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild; one sister, Winona “Nonie” Myrtle (McGee) Leaker of Lonaconing; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

The family moved to Baltimore in 1950 and lived in White Marsh (Baltimore County) for 33 years, moving back to the area in 1983. Catherine retired from Social Security Administration in November of 1978, after 24 years of service as an Investigation Clerk.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Lonaconing where she was also involved in the Women's Ministry. 

 

Due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 virus, at the request of the family, the visitation and funeral will be private, with Pastor Harold Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Green Cemetery, Avilton. Arrangements are under the care of the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A.
